While traveling in Europe, it occurred to me how important our justice system is, because it empowers all citizens to make needed changes.

I have seen many wet bathroom floors with no “wet floor” signs across Europe. I tripped on a rug – my wife tripped on the same one the day before. How many other people tripped on it? Who was hurt and how badly?

Not sure what the European courts are like, my guess is it’s a lot harder to file civil lawsuits.

Do we have too many lawsuits in America? Probably. Injury lawyers like me need to be responsible and discreet and not file meritless claims.

But I’d much rather live in a place where the citizens have the power to bring about change, to right wrongs and make our world safer, through the power of our justice system.

Cheers, au revoir and arrevederci & have a safe summer.
